The library will be changing how videos are accessed on Kanopy due to unsustainable, rising costs and budget cuts once our initial budget threshold for the 2019-2020 academic year is reached.

The library will continue to provide access to Kanopy; however, we will be changing the nature of the access provided to a moderated system from the current on demand system. Faculty may request licensing of Kanopy streaming films to replace videos as part of course assignments. Clubs and other student organizations may also request licensing of videos to support their activities. The library will not purchase Kanopy videos for individual recreational viewing.

Obviously, any in-semester change of this nature is not ideal. We will work with faculty who are using Kanopy as part of their curriculum to ensure that films are available for classes and minimize the impact of this necessary change.

To request access to a Kanopy video that the library does not have licensing to:

Please complete the request form on the video's Kanopy page and our Acquisitions team will respond to your request as soon as possible.
