While the librarians are available to assist you remotely via chat, phone, and text message, they are also able to synchronously meet over WebEx. Why WebEx? - we sometimes need to quickly demonstrate a search by sharing our screen or even asking you to share your screen with us.

To meet with a librarian using WebEx, please contact the library using any means of communication listed at or schedule the meeting in advance using our Book-a-Librarian research appointment service.

Whether using a computer, tablet, or phone, please make sure you have your sound and microphone enabled.  We can chat but using the voice feature is much more effective.

WebEx Setup and Tips: How to Join a Meeting

For best results, please enter the librarian's WebEx room while using a desktop computer or laptop. You can access the service using a smart phone or tablet, but there may be additional technical limitations and navigating may be less efficient.  In general:

  • We have found it best to use the Mozilla Firefox browser.
  • If using the Chrome browser, you may need to download the WebEx extension.
  • If using a mobile device (smart phone or tablet) then you will need to download the WebEx app prior to entering the room.
